What Is Photorealistic Rendering?

Photorealistic rendering is a 3D image built to look like a real photograph of a finished building. It relies on physically accurate lighting, true-to-life materials, and realistic surroundings — people, plants, cars — so the result is nearly indistinguishable from a photo, even though the space may not exist yet.

Photorealistic means it could pass for a photo

A photorealistic render is one you'd have to look at twice to know it wasn't shot with a camera. The reflections behave correctly. Shadows fall where the sun would actually put them. Materials have the small imperfections real surfaces carry. The whole image holds together the way a good photograph does.
